I know this is an odd forum to put this product in but it's actually a pretty good organic way to kill off bugs. I've tried to kill aphids off plants and it works and I'm testing it on killing springtails and mites in my whiteworm culture. Hopefully it won't harm the worms too much.
The active ingredient you're looking for is Potassium Hydroxide. It's a strong base that eats away at soft insect exoskeletons. It won't work on all insects. With the All Purpose Cleaner, you won't need to dilute the solution. You can get the dishwashing liquid version of this but you'd have to find the right concentration for yourself.
You can use Palmolive, Dawn and such but they've replaced the Potassium Hydroxide with some other chemicals that I'm not sure they biodegrade well and the added fragrance can be obnoxious. You can also buy organic bug spray which has the exact chemical but twice the price.
I'm giving it 5/5 stars.Statistics: Posted by mistergreen — Thu Jan 10, 2013 3:56 pm
