I got a cheap dual stage house carbon filter on eBay for $20. The carbon removes the chlorine. A dual stage is important because the first stage removes any solids that may limit the life span of the carbon.

You can install it to your main water line where you change out the filter 3-6 months. I installed one just for my aquariums where I only need to change out the filter maybe once a 8months - year. It's nice to feed tap water straight into my tank without killing my fish.

I'll post pictures later. I'm still working out kinks. There's a minor leak I'd want to fix up.
