I'm proud to say I happened to know the answer to the challenge question (formula for potassium nitrate without the potassium) but I don't regard that as common knowledge... my feelings are a mix of "what kind of kookie board is this?" and "I might actually be in the right place for once"

But anyway. I've got a 29gal and recently upgraded to "hi-tech", meaning pressurized co2 on a timer diffused via inline reactor, Marineland Aquatic Plant LED light and fertz. I'm enjoying watching the plants grow like a bat out of hell and trying new plants out. I have yet to have a failure - I think my tank is fairly capable at this point. I almost look forward to the challenge of finding a plant that won't do well, to force me to fine tune things further.

I'm intrigued by the DIY nature of this board. I'm a pharmacist, not an engineer, but I may have been an engineer in a previous life. I definitely enjoy the puzzle that is solving a good DIY project, and I'm not too shabby with programming. From the little poking around I've done so far, I'm very excited to see what all is offered here in the way of custom programming solenoids/lights/whatever else.
